"FUN RIDE" BRINGS 500 TOURISTS TO LILOAN

WHAT would have been a usual quiet Sunday in Liloan came alive when some 500 local and foreign members of the Bike For You Foundation ended their fun ride at the Liloan Central School.

Moreover, it was not just a simple ride from Banilad, Cebu City for these cycling enthusiasts, as they also shared their passion by committing to donate some 30 to 40 bicycles for selected schoolchildren in Liloan.

The donation for Liloan is part of the 150 good quality bikes from abroad, which were donated upon the initiative of a French member.

Aljew Frasco, Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco’s executive secretary, said that the nongovernment organization will not just give away the bikes to anyone.

“They would want to make sure that the donated bikes will not be sold or taken for granted, so they will ask children to write an essay on why they would want to have the bike,” said the mayor’s cousin and executive secretary.

Last Sunday’s fun ride, which kicked off at the Holiday Spa in Banilad, was also a way for the club members to raise funds so they could pay customs duties and fees.
